Article 20 of the revised Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) is new law coming out of the European Commission which is due to come into force in May 2016. In essence it will restrict the sale and promotion of electronic cigarettes far more severely than that of even traditional tobacco-based cigarettes and is likely, in its current form, to destroy the UK e cigarettes market.

A safety alert has recently been issued by the Local Government Association (LGA) surrounding the risks of using dodgy, dangerous or incompatible chargers with your e cigarette batteries.

Vaping on the increase

A new poll published yesterday and undertaken in the United States by Reuters/Ipsos outlines that the use of e cigarettes is continuing to grow rapidly.

It appears that European officials may have been wrongly labelling e-liquid as extremely toxic. This is the view of ECITA the e cig trade body, based on a report by toxicology consultants by Professors Riccardo Polosa and Bernd Mayer, and Dr Jacques Le Houezec.

As we have found out over the past few weeks, vaping has more than tripled over the last two years, with 71% of ex-smokers and 36% of current smokers using ecigarettes to stop smoking entirely
